Home ›What To Expect from (and How To Do) The Festival
Although this will be the 3rd time The Hopscotch Festival is in Kelowna, we thought we'd explain how the festival works so you know more or less what to expect.
Step 1: Buy a ticket.
(Already have one? Skip Step 1)
Step 2: Get Excited.
(Already Excited? Continue Executing Step 2)
Step 3: Plan for a SAFE way to get home from the festival. Get a friend to pick you and your group up, bring a designated driver, take a cab, walk home <--- all acceptable options. Drinking and Driving, even a little, is so incredibly irresponsible to yourself and your peers. PLEASE BE RESPONSIBLE AND DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE. This is done by planing ahead.
Step 4: Once you arrive at The Curling Club, you will be asked for your ticket. Once in, you will be given a program with a floor map of the booths as well as some other information. In addition, you will be given your Official Souvenir Tasting Cup. This is the foundation of the magic that is soon heading your way. If you bought your tickets (gold ones and non-complimentary e-tickets), you will be given 5 FREE tasting tokens upon entering the Grand Tasting Hall.
(Side Note: The Token is the official currency within The Grand Tasting Hall at all Hopscotch Festivals. They cost $1 each and are bought from 3 designated token booths within The GTH. Everything in The GTH is bought with tokens with all products being sampled having a token price. Most Beer is 1 token while most products range from 2-3. It is very affordable. Some of the higher end Scotches are a bit higher.)
Step 5: Pace yourself and sample. If you feel you have had too much, slow down, grab some food and water, take a seat in The Capital News Cafe, relax. We will have some live jazz all night on the Capital News Stage - enjoy it. If you feel you need to "call it a night", do it. Again, PLEASE BE RESPONSIBLE.
Step 6: Ask questions. This is an educational tasting event. Use this opportunity to learn what makes one product so special; so much better, or at least different, than the one next to it. The people pouring are SO knowledgeable. Take advantage of them. (Not that way!)
Step 7: Get Home Safe!
Things to Note

B) There will be cigarettes for sale at the show if you feel you want to purchase some
