Bio: Both of Mike's grandfathers were distillers on Islay and his father was a grain distiller from the lowlands. Whisky distilling was therefore, very much in his blood. His first full manager role in 1983, was at Glenkinchie, one of the "Classic Six, from there his responsibilities expanded as manager of Blair Athol, a large and much visited distillery followed by, four years on the Isle of Islay responsible for both Caol Ila and the mighty Lagavulin. Royal Lochnagar was his final posting where he spent five years producing that distinctive spirit. In 2003 he was recognized by Whisky Magazine with an award for special services to the industry.

Bio: Ryan has been the Brand Education Manager at Corby Distilleries and the Canadian Ambassador for The Glenlivet for the past 4 years. He received his training in Scotland from Master Distillers, Master Blenders and Global Brand Ambassadors at Strathisla, The Glenlivet and Glenburgie distilleries. These three distilleries produce malt whiskies for some of the most popular scotch whiskies in the world – Chivas Regal, Ballantine’s and, most importantly, The Glenlivet. Ryan has represented The Glenlivet at many whisky shows across Canada, including Victoria Whisky Show and Hopscotch in British Columbia, Willow Park Whisky Show in Alberta, Spirit of Toronto and Whisky Live in Ontario, and Spirits Festival, in New Brunswick.

Bio: For three decades, John won wide recognition in the Niagara wine industry, as a winemaker and industry leader. In 1993 he purchased the last remaining independent distillery in Ontario, and began making spirits. He has translated his winemaking experience into the art of distilling. Forty Creek has won countless gold medals and is the fastest growing Canadian whisky in North America. Malt Advocate Magazine named John Pioneer of the Year in 2007. Whisky Magazine named him Whisky Ambassador of the Year in their 2008 Canadian Icons of Whisky Awards and named his distillery the 2008 Distillery of the Year. Jim Murray declared in the 2008 edition of Murray’s Whisky Bible, “Of all the world’s distillers, there are few I hold in higher esteem than John Hall.”
