The Grand Tasting Hall

Grand Tasting HallFor the last 17 years, The Grand Tasting Hall (GTH) has offered beer and whisky connoisseurs a chance to sip, sample, taste, and learn about the products they love. It has grown from a small group of people in a hotel ballroom to (fast forward 17 years) attracting 6000 people each year. The Grand Tasting Hall lives within the walls of the historic PNE Forum. On Friday November 15th and Saturday November 16th, the Grand Tasting Hall comes alive with 100+ exhibitors, 350+ products to sample, and 3000+ of your peers. Not only is there Premium and Craft Beer, Scotch, and all other whiskies, but as well, there is vodka, gin, rum, tequila, liqueur, and so many more types of alcoholic drinks to taste.

Food

The Grand Tasting Hall welcomes several local restaurants each year. More details will come but we can assure you in 2013, there will be no need to eat dinner first. We will have gourmet meals ready to serve for your culinary enjoyment.

Musical Entertainment

Goby Catt will once again be on hand to open up the festivities and croon the sultry sounds of the classics… Sinatra style. From there, the BC Irish Regiment Pipes and Drums will be showcasing their piping and drumming as they walk through the crowd! Dressed in traditional Irish attire, this is a special sight to be seen. And new for 2013, the 7-piece RazzMaJazz Dixieland Band will be performing upbeat dixie music to keep those smiles going right until the end of the show!

Tasting Tokens

Tasting tokens are the only form of currency in the Grand Tasting Hall market. The first five tokens for your Grand Tasting Experience are included with your purchased ticket. Within steps of you walking inside, you will be given your free pouch of tokens. Additional tokens can be purchased for $1 (plus PST) at the Tasting Token booths. The price of each sample in the Grand Tasting Hall is based on the retail value of the bottle being poured.

Transportation

Safety is priority number one and getting home safe is the only option. There are FREE SHUTTLES starting at 9pm from the PNE Forum to three destinations: Phibbs Exchange, Renfrew Station, and The St. Regis Hotel Downtown (located on both Skytrain lines). IT IS FREE. You should use these.

Thanks to the Get Home Safe program at the BCLDB, we are able to offer you free transit tickets to be used on Saturday. So, either catch a city bus right from the PNE or take a free shuttle to a transit line that you can use to get home.
